About the project
The "Fit for Future" project addresses the challenges that the University of Bern will face in the future.
At its core, the "Fit for Future" project addresses the following question:
What are the consequences of changing working conditions at the University of Bern, and what do we need to do today to ensure that we will still be attractive and competitive in 10-20 years?
To find answers to this question, employees of the University from all faculties and the central administration, together with external partners from politics, business, and science, went on a three-day retreat in June 2022. From the results of this retreat, twelve action areas emerged that were subsequently worked on by project teams. In autumn 2024, Fit for Future was redimensioned by removing action areas from the program, whose projects have been completed or are well advanced. Since then, 5 of the 12 action areas continue to run under the Fit for Future umbrella.
