Good leadership aims to empower employees so that they can successfully complete their tasks.

Our goals:

  • In the next 20 years, the University of Bern will continue to be known for excellent leadership culture.
  • Its organizational structure, professional selection of leaders, and training and development will enable good leadership at all levels. The University will gain a competitive advantage in achieving its goals and will attract talent because of good leadership.
  • Conflicting roles in the supervision of doctoral students will be resolved, and an attractive environment will be created for doctoral students and supervisors.
  • Leadership at the University of Bern will be done collaboratively through peer coaching, mutual support, and leadership support roles. Along with standardized leadership tools, it will create optimal conditions, including those for rotating posts and temporary leadership tasks.
